Heading west from highway 101 the bulk of Greenbrae’s single family homes are located in the main subdivision on the north side of Sir Francis Drake Blvd. Homes down in the flats are sought after for their useable back yards, while many of those up on the hill come with spectacular views of Mount Tamalpais and the Bay. The first homes were built in 1946 and while most of them are single level Ranchers, through the years many have been expanded or dramatically updated to a more modern look. The streets in this neighborhood are divided by center islands landscaped with native Marin plants. Conveniently located right by the freeway on the south side of Sir Francis Drake is Bon Air Center, with restaurants, Mollie Stone’s market, and other variety of other useful services.
