Tam Valley is one of the southernmost neighborhoods in Marin, and one of the best commute locations into San Francisco. It’s a beautiful area with an almost rural feel, but the weather is an issue of much discussion, as on many days the fog and wind come in over the ridges from the ocean and cool the valley considerably. Those moving to Marin to trade San Francisco’s cool and fog for dependable sun and warmth often find it too similar to the City in that regard, but for those who don’t mind the cooler climate it offers a great bang for the buck compared to the rest of Southern Marin. The area has it’s own community center and farmers market and a fair number of stores and restaurants too. Tam Valley consists of a few different neighborhoods. Birdland is an area with smaller entry level homes, on streets with names like Cardinal and Flamingo. Going a bit west in the flats from Birdland you find a nice mix of smaller bungalow style homes with charm and homes built in the 60s. The Little City Farms area deeper in the valley features some larger homes with bigger lots. Eastwood Park is located here and has a great area to BBQ or let the kids roam on the grass or play on the play structures.
