On Monday, I took the kids to the Halloween Heroes event at the San Francisco Exploratorium. Halloween Heroes is described as “an indoor Halloween wonderland for kids of all ages.” Put on by the Wender Weis Foundation for Children, this event lives up to its billing.
In addition to the Exploratorium’s hands on science and art activities, we got to enjoy yummy food and beverages donated by top Bay Area restaurants. The kids enjoyed hot dogs, cotton candy, lemonade, candied apples and more along with trick or treat booths while we sipped a glass of vino and perused the silent auction. Now I like that kind of trick or treating!
We saw tons of Bay Area sports “celebrities” including the 49ers cheerleaders and mascots from all the teams. There was so much to do, we didn’t have time to do it all before the sugar high came down.
This year’s event benefits the Junior Giants Baseball Program and the Exploratorium’s Children’s Educational Outreach Program. If you missed it this year, remember it for next year. It is a fun and safe event!
